Greater Education Opportunities

Tertiary study in Geelong offers a fast-paced city lifestyle, but with the heart and comfort of a smaller place.

We have world-class entertainment, arts, culture, sporting facilities, major shopping centre brands, great food, wine and coffee.

But…we’re home to beaches which are the envy of the country and lots of green, open spaces for that greater work-study balance. Housing and accommodation is more diverse and affordable and there’s less traffic, which means a shorter commute to study.

Geelong has an energy-filled entertainment calendar and nightlife, so there’s always something to do and we’ve become a destination for international bands.

If it’s secondary or primary schools you’re exploring, you’ll find some of Victoria’s top non-government schools and high-performing government schools, surrounded by great places to live.

Watch this short video to experience more of our greater study lifestyle.

Working together for a sustainable future

FormFlow is a Geelong based technology company which is committed to partnerships and collaborations to drive innovation-led solutions which provide positive social and environmental change within the community.

One of their projects, Prefab 21 is a partnership between Deakin University School of Architecture and Built Environment and Samaritan House, a shelter for homeless men, focusing on the role of design in addressing social needs.

Deakin University architecture students have used lean manufacturing and circular economy principles to work with FormFlow to create a microvillage of seven independent living units for Samaritan House to provide crisis accommodation and transitions guests to a more stable future.

"It is the livelihood of Geelong that makes me want to stay here. In terms of living, it is a regional area but it has almost everything a city has to offer."
