Our top growing sectors are health, education, retail, construction, manufacturing and tourism and we are expanding our knowledge-based and innovation industries, like professional services, advanced materials manufacturing, research, cleantech, agribusiness and across creative and cultural sectors.

While 85 per cent of Greater Geelong’s workforce lives in the region, it’s only one hour door-to-door to Melbourne. This year a project is underway to cut train travel times by 15 minutes.

Big investments are happening across the city and a new active transport network of shared trails and cycling lanes is driving a sustainable and healthy commuting future.

Wadawurrung woman Ebonee Armistead loves working on country at Wurdi Youang (You Yangs), as a Parks Victoria Community Engagement Ranger, and feeling a connection to culture through seeing evidence of her ancestor’s sustainable lifestyles.

Ebonee’s role is to educate students through Parks Victoria’s ‘Discovering Country’ educational program. She also delivers free Junior Ranger activities offered on school holidays. Ebonee has recently developed Victoria’s first Connection to Country Wadawurrung Junior Ranger booklet, in partnership with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners.
