A greater community vision
A greater community vision

Greater connections

People make the ‘G-change’ for the beach life, greater fresh air, housing affordability, diverse and welcoming community, work-life balance, quality schools and the chance at a greater Australian lifestyle. All of this is surrounded by world-renowned natural beauty, just an hour away from Melbourne.

Our growth is guided by a community vision for a clever and creative future and an ethos of growing well. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and we believe that nobody should be left behind.

As Australia’s UNESCO City of Design, our dynamic and accessible arts and culture sector supports a growing creative economy and we are fast becoming the destination for live entertainment.

A burgeoning food and wine scene rivals (in a friendly way) our capital city counterpart and is exploding in laneway streets and urban eats. And as birthplace of the Geelong Cats, one of the world’s oldest sporting clubs, the community sporting spirit runs deep.

What Simon says is greater

Chef Simon Toohey is well-known from his Masterchef days and now for his Network 10 program, Freshly Picked.

When Simon and his partner Georgia started considering a move to a regional area, they had some criteria. It had to be growing and exciting, have beautiful cafes, restaurants, bars and coffee, an amazing arts culture, quick and easy transport to Melbourne, close to beaches and affordable.

They left the inner-west of Melbourne in April and are making the growing inner Geelong neighbourhood of Newcomb their new home.
